Chinese porcelain planter with matching saucer, hand-painted in the famille rose (fencai) palette. The colorful decoration features a lady and elderly sage in a garden, attended by children carrying a giant peach — a classic symbol of longevity, harmony, and prosperity.
The piece includes its original scalloped porcelain saucer, finely painted with underglaze blue floral scrollwork. Both parts bear marks on the base: a red seal mark on the planter and a blue character mark on the saucer (likely apocryphal, added for decorative authenticity).
A beautiful example of mid-century Jingdezhen artistry — ideal as a planter, cachepot, or decorative display piece.
