Selling a 2016 Hobonichi Cover in A6 size. This is the Uroko no musubihana nagare (jet black). This is an extremely rare cover, and one that took a long time to find. It’s hard to let this one go but I no longer use A6 size at all and I’m trying to find it a new home. 2016 was the last year Hobonichi used real leather in the interior of their covers, and this one is still in great condition.
A little information about this cover from the site: Fugeiten Project members Yoko Tsukamatsu and Ricca Fukuda have teamed up to reinvent traditional Kogin embroidery into modern textiles. Kogin embroidery originated in the Tsugaru region of Aomori Prefecture back in the Edo Period. Today, the embroiderers at the Hirosaki Kogin Research Institute have painstakingly crafted each individual techo cover. Each pattern, or modoko, has a special meaning. Uroko refers to the scales of a fish, which are embroidered around the spine of the cover in a pattern almost reminiscent of a flower.
